Recently, Anton Paar officially launched its new series of universal alcohol and extract concentration meters: Alex 301 and Alex 501. Specifically designed for small and medium-sized breweries, wineries, and distilleries, this series perfectly combines industry-proven patented technology with intuitive operation, enabling fast and accurate on-site testing without the need for regular reference analysis.

The new-generation meters innovatively integrate near-infrared (NIR) spectral absorption technology and oscillating U-tube density measurement principle. Combined with a comprehensive statistical model, they can accurately test a wide range of beverages—from stouts and barrel-aged spirits to ciders, rosé wines, and even sake.

Compared with the traditional distillation method, which requires significant labor and time for sample preparation, the Alex series can complete the testing of clear, de-carbonated samples in just three minutes. With a single button operation, results can be obtained right beside the production line.

A single device can store up to 1,000 sets of test data and monitor 40 fermentation processes in real time. For cloudy beers and wines, a dedicated sample preparation kit is provided, offering step-by-step guidance for accurate measurement after clarification.

The Alex 501 is further equipped with a three-way valve to enable quick switching between measurement and cleaning modes. It can also be connected to Anton Paar's laboratory execution system, AP Connect, which aggregates all test data into a unified digital platform. This significantly improves workflow efficiency and optimizes data management and compliance processes.
