On September 26, 2025, the Sub-Committee for Determination of Chemical Composition of Steel and Alloys (SAC/TC183/SC5) of the National Steel Standardization Technical Committee convened its 2025 Annual Meeting and National Standards Deliberation Conference in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province. The meeting was chaired by Chairman Jia Yunhai and Vice Chairman Zhang Yi, with 58 representatives from 39 organizations in attendance, including NCS Testing Technology, Central Iron & Steel Research Institute, and Baoshan Iron & Steel Co.

In his opening address, Liang Jianxiong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Iron & Steel Research Institute, extended a warm welcome to the participating experts, provided an overview of recent developments in international and domestic standardization efforts, and expressed high expectations for the sub-committee's future growth. Yang Zhigang, Chairman of NCS Testing Technology, reaffirmed the company's continued support for standardization initiatives. Secretary-General Fan Xiaofen presented a work report for 2025 and outlined the work plan for 2026.

During the conference, three national standards for the determination of phosphorus, nickel, and copper content were reviewed and approved, while a preliminary review was conducted for the standard on cobalt content determination. These revisions are aimed at optimizing the standard system and enhancing its overall integrity. The meeting successfully concluded with all agenda items completed and positive outcomes achieved.
